The Universidade de Lisboa, with the support of Caixa Geral de Depósitos, yearly attributes the "Scientific Awards Universidade de Lisboa / Caixa Geral de Depósitos", which aim to reward the research activity and promote the practice of publication in recognized international journals. The Jury awards a Prize and up to two Honorable Mentions for each of the areas of ULisboa's knowledge. This year, in the area of Veterinary Sciences, Professor José Prates was distinguished with the Scientific Prize and Professor Fernando Ferreira and Dr. Susana Alves were awarded with Honorable Mentions.
The Scientific Prize award consists of a € 6,500 research grant.
